Back-end Developer

Back-end Developers at ExampleCorp work on the server-side of web applications to ensure that the front-end user experience is seamless. They are responsible for the server, application, and database, and must be able to troubleshoot any problems that may arise. Back-end Developers at ExampleCorp work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to rapidly prototype and iterate on new ideas. The ideal candidate will have experience with Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. This position is based in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

The following areas of focus will be central to your role in this position:

  • Design, implement, and maintain the ExampleCorp back-end systems.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate back-end systems with the ExampleCorp website and applications.
  • Optimize back-end systems for maximum performance and scalability.
  • Ensure the security and stability of back-end systems.
  • Troubleshoot and debug back-end issues.
  • Write and maintain documentation for back-end systems.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following attributes:

  • A minimum of 4 years professional experience is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one back-end programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Ruby on Rails)
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • Experience with web application frameworks (e.g., Django, Ruby on Rails)
  • Strong understanding of the principles of MVC (Model-View-Controller) web applications
  • Ability to design and implement RESTful web APIs
  • Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG)
  • Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
