In our eyes, there are few functions that have as big an impact on the success of a business as recruitment.

Without a diverse, cohesive team, built on shared values and complimentary workstyles, even the best products or services would fail to get off the ground.

But building successful teams isn’t easy, which is why we invest so much time and effort into building confidence that our organizations and our candidates are compatible — both now and into the future.

We believe that the best way to build this confidence is to gather feedback from the people who know what it’s like to work alongside your candidates better than anyone else — their former colleagues, managers, direct reports and other collaborators.

These insights are all the more powerful when you can compare them to other pieces of information you gather during your recruitment processes. This is why we’ve released our new candidate self-assessment feature — to supercharge your hiring decisions with another powerful source of candidate insights.

How does Self-Assessment work?

When creating new roles in HiPeople, recruiters can now also request a self-assessment from the candidate themselves.

‍To provide you with the best ability to compare feedback across sources, the self-assessment questions reflect those also being asked to the candidate’s references. We automatically remove any questions that aren’t relevant in a self-assessment context. You can preview all the questions being asked to your candidate and their references before the role creation is complete.

After you've created a role, your candidates will see two options in their HiPeople portal: a request to complete the self-assessment, and a request to invite their referees to complete a reference. ✌️

Once your candidate has completed the self-assessment, their answers will be available in the HiPeople platform under the responses tab, next to the corresponding reference questions.

Now it's possible to compare and contrast feedback from your candidate, and their references, to get better insights on the topics that are most important to you.
