Site Reliability Engineer

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you'll be responsible for monitoring and maintaining our complex infrastructure, as well as developing tools and automating processes to improve reliability. Key Responsibilities

The following areas of focus will be central to your role in this position:

  • Design, implement, and maintain ExampleCorp's site reliability engineering infrastructure
  • Build and maintain tools to automate and improve ExampleCorp's site reliability engineering processes
  • Develop and maintain ExampleCorp's site reliability engineering runbooks
  • Lead on-call site reliability engineering shifts to troubleshoot and resolve critical incidents
  • Work with ExampleCorp's engineering and operations teams to identify and resolve site reliability issues
  • Mentor other engineers on site reliability engineering best practices

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following attributes:

  • A minimum of five years in a technical operations role with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
  • A minimum of two years in a Site Reliability Engineering role.
  • Experience with public cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Splunk.
  • Experience with configuration management tools, such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
  • Experience with containerization tools, such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python or Ruby.
  • Experience with programming languages, such as Java or Go.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for problem-solving and a desire to constantly improve.
