Introducing Disqualifiers

Application Screening now supports disqualifying criteria.

Candidates can be strong overall while still missing a requirement that’s non-negotiable for a specific role, such as language capability, location, or minimum years of relevant experience.

Teams can now mark individual screening criteria as Disqualifiers. If a candidate doesn’t score high on that criterion, they’re automatically moved from To review to Disqualified, regardless of their overall score.

This makes the distinction super clear between “How strong is this candidate overall?” and “Do they meet our must-have requirements?”

For example, someone might be an excellent candidate overall, but if a role requires a specific certification, work authorization, or another hard requirement, failing that criterion should outweigh a high overall score.

Coming soon: Filters

We’re also getting ready to launch Filters, giving you more flexibility to dynamically narrow down your candidate pool based on what matters for a particular role.

You’ll be able to filter candidates based on things like proximity to a certain location (office, store, site), salary expectations, relevant work experience, and more.

Together, Disqualifiers and Filters give you two complementary ways to focus your review: automatically remove candidates who don’t meet hard requirements, then dynamically filter the remaining pool to find the candidates most relevant to you.
